Kiln Health Talk Series

Every month, Dr. Griffin McMath brings a specific health topic into the Kiln atrium for a 40-minute talk followed by open Q&A. Topics are chosen by Kiln members. The content is shaped by questions submitted in advance — which means the more you put in before you show up, the more useful it is when you get there.

Talks are free and open to Kiln members and one guest. Space is limited.

Below is the running archive. Each post starts as a preview with the intake form for that month's talk. After the talk, it becomes a recap with the recording and key themes from the Q&A.

April 14th is next. Submit your questions before the talk.

Stress Awareness Month: What the Body Keeps the Score On

April is National Stress Awareness Month. Most people encounter stress management as a response — something you reach for after the damage is already accumulating. This talk starts earlier. The first half covers the physiology: how the stress response works, what cortisol and the autonomic nervous system do over time, and what chronic low-grade activation looks like in the body before it becomes a problem you can name. The second half is evidence-based tools, what the research supports, what the effect sizes look like, and how to build them into a life that is already full. Questions submitted in advance shape the Q&A. Submitting a question does not constitute medical advice or establish a patient relationship.
